When uninstalling Autodesk Design Review 2012, following error message displays:

Although the dialog shown in Fig 1 is related to Autodesk Design Review, a similar error message could potentially show up when trying to uninstall any Autodesk Product. Error 1905 is a Microsoft Windows error and its occurrence is rare.

Solution:

This problem could potentially occur when uninstalling any software product. This is a permission issue that prevents the file from being removed during installation.

  1. Ensure you have administrator rights on the machine
  2. Type Regedit at the Windows Command line
  3. In the registry, locate HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREAUTODESK<product name>
  4. Browse to the folder/file displayed in the error message and select the file
  5. On the Edit menu select Permissions
  6. Set the permissions to “Full Control”
