  • Improved Folder Enumeration performance for Mac clients. This can be especially noticeable for folders with large numbers (100+) of files in them. Improvements on local / SAN disks may be up to 2x, while on Network Reshare Volumes enumeration performance may improve 20-30x. The default for the new Refreshable 'EnumerationPerformance' registry key is OFF. Set this key to ON for improved performance.
  • The default for the 'SpotlightDefaultContentSearchIsFileNameOnly' is now OFF. When OFF, Spotlight searches will include file name, file contents, and file metadata in the search results. When ON, Spotlight searches will include just file name and file contents in the search results.
  • The default for the NonRefreshable 'EntryExpirationTime' registry key was changed from 15 to 300 seconds for better performance with Network Reshare volumes.
  • The default for the Refreshable 'UsePrimaryDomainController' registry key is now OFF. ExtremeZ-IP will find and use nearby domain controllers.
  • Spotlight searches from within the Open file dialog of Adobe InDesign will now return results.

  • Network Reshare support. Network Reshare allows an ExtremeZ-IP server to proxy access to file shares on a secondary file server or NAS device. ExtremeZ-IP uses the SMB/CIFS protocol to access the remote file server or NAS device. These files are presented to the Mac client as a standard AFP volume. For more information, see: http://support.grouplogic.com/?p=3989
  • Files residing in DFS namespaces can now be made available as ExtremeZ-IP Network Reshare AFP volumes. For more information, see: http://support.grouplogic.com/?p=3991
  • ArchiveConnect is now compatible with ExtremeZ-IP Network Reshare AFP volumes. For more information, see: http://support.grouplogic.com/?p=3993
  • Changed how we initially access files and folders to provide a better client experience with ArchiveConnect. This change prevents files from being unnecessarily scanned by anti-virus applications or brought on-line.
  • Fixed a bug where Spotlight searches begun in folders with single quotes in their names would return no results.
  • Fixed a bug where long Spotlight queries could cause buffer overrun and the ExtremeZ-IP server would crash.
  • Updated the version of Bonjour installed by ExtremeZ-IP to Bonjour 3.0. This fixed a bug where all Bonjour connectivity could cease an hour or two after startup of the ExtremeZ-IP server.
